Welcome To The World Of
Irama
About The Author
Irama
Irama is the pen name of a Mississippi-born author, proud mother of two daughters, and loving Gigi to her granddaughter, Amari—the namesake behind “Irama,” a quiet nod to rhythm, legacy, and the women who carry us forward.
Now living in Conley, Georgia, Irama leads with purpose—as the founder of Real Divas Read, a thriving sisterhood of readers and leaders for over 13 years, and as a Senior Program Manager by day, navigating high-impact initiatives with strength and empathy. She holds a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and lives by the belief that personal growth is its own form of leadership.
Tethered to the Past: Bound by Memory, Anchored in Grace
Tethered to the Past is the beginning of Irama’s two-part memoir, a raw and tender journey through the return of a great love and the heartbreak of watching it slip away. When Gemini, a man once close to her heart, reentered her life, their reconnection felt like a divine second chance. Together, they built new memories, rediscovered joy, and held onto each other through the storm of his battle with cancer.
This book is not simply about loss, it is about love in all its forms: the love that nourishes, the love that challenges, and the love that endures even when the person is gone. Through nights spent in hospital chairs, quiet conversations at sunrise, and the simple act of showing up, Irama shares what it means to tether yourself to someone with all that you are.
Poetic and unflinchingly honest, Tethered to the Past is a story of memory, devotion, and the sacred duty of care. It is for anyone who has ever loved deeply, lost profoundly, and longed to hold onto the pieces of a bond that shaped their soul.
Untethered A Journey Beyond Loss
Untethered: A Journey Beyond Loss is the second installment in Irama’s two-part memoir series—a continuation of healing, wholeness, and spiritual rebirth following the love and grief that shaped her in Tethered to the Past.
She appears only in silhouette, a reflection of her evolution no longer tethered, but unmistakably present. The name may
be a pen name, but the story remains deeply and unapologetically hers.
